IJAG is flustered by computers again

I was in the middle of a conversation last night when my internet went out. Well, that's not completely truthful. My desktop says it's connected to my wireless. It says signal strength is excellent. The little computer is green, same as it is every other day. Yet, Firefox won't work. I rebooted my wireless, I restarted my computer. I gave up and moved to my laptop.

Same problem. Says it's connected, the four little bars are all green, and the computer has the blinking green screen with the little lines coming out of it. Yet, nothing. Not on Firefox, and not on IE.

So now I'm stealing wireless from someone else. Any ideas what's going on?

Is your local network connected to the internet?
Right click on the wireless icon and click on repair network...

be sure to "Let windows manage your profile" first, then try repairing

Does your IP need to get reset? Unplug everything and start over.

    Is your modem working?
The nextwork might get a good signal, but if you arent getting an external line in, your network quality wont matter...

Slappy I have no idea what anything you just typed means.

Flasher, whenever I repair, it refreshes my IP address. Therefore I'm on my 12th one.

I dunno ... it was a shot in the dark. That's what IT guys do, right? They just shut everything off and sit there in their sweatpants with fingers crossed.

Wonder if she's ready for the restore point without turning into a puddle?

Do what Flash said...unplug the router and your incoming internet. You need to power cycle the system, sometimes it just overloads and stops taking orders from you.

Unplug everything for 30 seconds, plug in the internet, then plug in your wireless router. Reboot your computer. See if that helps.
