Authorship is not in question. What MGIII is saying is that he should have credited "Got to Give It Up" for inspiration at the least. He's not saying he sampled OR took words from the song. At least not in that link, he's not.

Robin Thicked tried to do that with Kelly Clarkson on Duets, but her ass is too big.

I'm happy and proud to say I've never heard a note of it.

I only caught wind of it because I saw the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon "elementary classroom" version of it.

The difference is that when Madonna did this kind of stuff, she was turning the tables on the guys and making them the sex objects. Miley was just a prop for Robin Thicke.

Twitter account from the real Meredith Artley (@MeredithA)

To clarify, I did not write this. http://onion.com/1feLJEl But I accept all compliments and deny all accusations. Tx for the page views.

For the record, I've never heard of Robin Thicke until all this and I have never heard of his song....
    ...and I'm OK with that.

I said the post. Not the link.

My point was, did smallp just put out an Onion link as a legitimate explanation for CNN's decision making?
