If you could write a 5,000-word takeout on one athlete, who would it be?

Do the research on Terry Bollea before you interview him. I think that would be the key to this story. Talk to his school teachers over the years, friends, ex-lovers, neighboor buddies. Then you'd get some good questions to ask him.

Bollea is/was a Bucs season ticket holder for years, and was fairly approachable for a column or notebook item.

  3. An NBA lifer. Bernie Fryer is an NBA ref who used to play in the league. When he retires, he could tell some stories.

I have never seen a definitive piece on Marty Blake. He is a hiliarious interview -- complete stream of consciousness.

Think anyone will do a Hank Aaron takeout before Bonds breaks his record for HRs?
