If you bought music from MSN Music, I have some bad news for you

Your PlaysForSure-encoded music? After Aug. 31, it won't PlayForSure. In fact, if it's not on an "authorized" computer on that date it may not PlayAtAll. And if you have to buy a new computer after Aug. 31, YouAreScrewed.

Rather than post the letter, here's the annotated version, filled with plenty of snarkasm for your enjoyment.

No wonder I use BitTorrent to download all my music and burn every library CD I can get my hands on, I mean no wonder I don't use MSN Music.

I find it somewhat comical that they suggest backing up music on standard-format CDs without mentioning the obvious part-deux to that: re-ripping it in unencrypted MP3 format.
