    $60 mil a year? On top of initial costs upward to $500 million? Really?

    If we don't continue our tradition of turning good ideas into taxpayer boondoggles filled with overpaid political patronage jobs, the terrorists have won.

    For Pete's sake.

    As the story suggests, make it a voluntary-donation thing. Virtually no one would ignore a voluntary box once allowed in for free, and they'd likely donate more than just spare pennies. But charging $25 immediately cuts off huge numbers of people.
