    That's a pretty amazing, historic moment.

    Imagine, the first-ever instance of a professional athlete acknowledging a young child, and it just happened! And the athlete is SUCH a good guy, he even gave the kid a piece of equipment used during the game!

    I'm so glad to see how unique hockey is, in having these player-fan interactions. Man, that really is what hockey, and ONLY hockey, is all about.

    Seriously, that's a great photo. But let's not act like hockey has a monopoly on parents putting their kids in danger . . . errrr . . . helping them to secure a souvenir from a friendly player.

    My wife was almost teary-eyed when we realized it was Savard who scored the goal.

    And I'm the hockey nut among us.

    Have to acknowledge ... a guy who had missed 2 months due to cheap shot, scoring the OT winner in his first game back, in the playoffs, is a great story.
