Not that it means anything but perhaps with Ellen on board, the sexual preferences of performers won't become a hot topic.

Honestly...when I think of Ellen, the first thing that comes to mind is how unfunny she is. Not her sexuality.

Yeah, but it comes up from time to time. And Ry you're wrong. She's funny looking.

Isn't that like saying a sports writer can't critique a game unless he or she played it? And Ellen is a riot.

I bet she is an expert on Portia's dance moves.

No, it's not. It's like saying that sportswriters can't judge gymnastics at the Olympics.

The only criticism I can think of is that she doesn't have a musical background.

You could argue, neither did Abdul. ;D

Otherwise, it's a tremendous upgrade. DeGeneres is hilarious. Frankly I'm stunned at the hatred here. She's the rare comedian who can be funny without it being at the expense of others.

She loves the show and has always championed the contestants on her show.

I saw her open for Seinfeld in 1990 or 1991. Absolutely hilarious and she's gotten funnier.

    Sirs, Madames,

I've always wondered why her folks didn't name her Suey.
