Heavy on the cream, but yes.

    Very good day. Incredible day.

Surgery was Thursday. They checked for leaks today.

All good, and we just gave her a bottle for the first time.

Awesome. One big milsestone down. Next you'll be posting about her dating exmediahack's kid.

Enjoy the big day with the family! It goes fast.

    Fiona comes home tomorrow.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for our doctors and nurses.

    We are so blessed.

Everything worked out for her as well as we could have hoped for.

Congratulations. Glad to learn everything has worked out alright.
We never had to deal with surgery, but I know what it's like to deal with those extended NICU stays.

In a break from politics, I should report that our daughter is nearly 6 months old now and is doing really well.

Her appetite is currently ferocious, and she's gaining weight rapidly now.

Her developmental skills, which were a little behind, from spending months in the NICU, are also catching up quickly.

She's a happy, curious baby, and we're blessed to be her parents.

Because of some concerns about her aspirating, she did spend a couple of days back in the hospital about six weeks ago, and so we're still supplementing her bottle feeds with her feeding tube, but hopefully we can move to full feeds in the coming months, as she transitions to solid food.

But, the main reason for my post is to remind everyone to count your blessings.

This mom is someone my wife befriended while we were in the hospital. Her daughter was born in November, and is still in the hospital. She's staying at the nearby Ronald McDonald house, while her husband takes care of their other kids, several hour away.

I don't know how she does it, and yet her faith in God is strong, and she always has a positive outlook.

I'm pretty much in awe of her.

In an effort to raise money, the hospital is sharing their story:
