I wouldn't bet on it (Nationwide sports betting)

Now, THAT is an easy out to a discussion.

As opposed to throwing out a line about what a nebulous "massive" number of people might do?

Yes, exactly as opposed to that. Pure antipodes.

No one present who doesn't get this need not go on, because
proper understanding of the argument at hand wholly depends on full
    comprehension of the above.

Simon, are you opposed to the other firms of legal wagering? Do you think the Vegas sports books should be shuttered?

Believe there'll be a consensus answer, but you asked Simon, so I'll be happy to let SC address it.

    Jump on in, Ben.

No. I'm not opposed to sports gaming as it exists, either. Planning a trip to go to Vegas forces some sort of forethought/budgeting... certainly more than driving five miles from one's house.

I'm saying that the easy availability of sports gaming to anyone would have a worse effect than the legalization of pot and prostitution combined.

    You have disagreed.

    I'll take that action.

That trip-neg, Ben... are you agreeing with me?

Based on what? Your gut feeling?

We've got gambling everywhere as it is. People inclined to gamble away their mortgages can already do it.

And I certainly don't understand why other nations can handle legal betting but the US can't.

Why can Canada handle unfettered gun ownership, and we can't?
