I refereed five U-11 girls games and a U-10 boys game at a tournament. After the last game of the day, a coach comes up to my ref crew and says, "You know, you guys are terrible!"

His team just lost 4-0. I wanted to remind him of that, and if we're terrible, and his team loses 4-0, what does that make him. However, I took the high road and said, "Thanks coach. See you tomorrow."

So ... I'm terrible.

 

As for my day umpiring a doubleheader, my first game was at a Class AA stadium.

Then I go to a piddly little chicken shit Godless County field for my second game.

 

You should have followed your instincts.
