Decided to bite the bullet and get an I Pad.

Does anyone know if there is a decent word processing app? Seems like the only app included is "Notes"

    Any other app recommendation appreciated

Use Google Docs for word processing and spread sheets.

Which one did you get? Did you go for 3G?

What do you think so far?

I love the thing. Bought a keyboard for it, too.

Best feature: doesn't need to be taken out of your bag at airports.

I have had one for a while, and it is good for a couple pretty specific entertainment tasks. Otherwise, pretty useless. If Jobs wasn't such a dick about Flash, it would be infinitely more useful. Pisses me off that I can't watch my funny cat videos.

Got mine with the 3G, Boom is without it. Interested to see how that works for him, wondering if anyone else finds it's no problem picking up wireless anywhere you are.

My 3G seems much slower than my wireless, which surprised me.

And I really really hate the typing, that keyboard annoys me, altho I think it might be suited for bigger hands, Boom loves it.

Looking for some good apps now.

Try using a wireless keyboard. The iPad can connect to a Bluetooth keyboard.

How does the keyboard work for you. Could you type a story on deadline with it?

I'll throw in my personal experience. I covered a holiday basketball tournament at the beginning of the week. My deadline is on Tuesday, and I wrote Monday night's story on the iPad. I like it because it doesn't take as long to boot up. Editing the story can be somewhat tough, but you can definitely type a story on it.

So far love the Pandora app. Could render my home XM obsolete.
