    This bit of news reminded me of when I was a teenager growing up on the Eastside in Riverside, Calif., where we were the only white folk in the 'hood.

    Many of the guys would call me "White Boy" as if it was my real name, but geez, if I even uttered the word "boy" at any of them, you would think I just prompted World War III.
