I love the Huntsville airport

I drove right in off I-565, found one of many parking spaces on the second floor of the deck, walked right up to the U.S. Airways counter and checked in, am now sitting here in a clean, quiet concourse using the free wireless. You can also fly direct to New York from here and get a bunch of other good deals.

On Monday night I bought a roundtrip ticket to Hartford, Conn., for $275.

If you live in and around Birmingham, Nashville, Chattanooga and anywhere else within about two hours of here, you should start adding this place to your search list on Orbitz or wherever you buy tickets.

We might have done this thread before, but I was inspired enough to do it again.

Hunstville is good like that... I have those same feelings for the Colorado Springs airport. Relatively cheap flights, easy-in/easy-out, free wireless. Only drawback is it's not quite on the interstate ... a few miles off I-25.

Yeah but you have to go to Hartford.

Boise's airport is very nice. I remember before they remodeled it, it sucked. It also sucked during the remodel, because you had to walk outside at one point on the concourse to avoid the construction. That was real pleasant in the middle of January.

Actually, I'm headed to Bridgeport for some thrilling NCAA women's basketball action.

Seems to me I launched my 2002 SLC Olympics adventure from Huntsville. I can't remember, for the life of me, where I connected. Denver? Dallas? I forget.

Anyway, I agree with John's praise of the place.

There's even a hotel in the lobby, where I crashed for a couple of hours when the airline (Delta?) lost my family for a few hours and had to truck them up from B-Ham in the middle of the night.

Huntsville's TSA officials can be screwed up.

I traveled through there recently and they had 13 TSA officials working one scanner line. Three or four were just standing around. The other security scanner sat idle, for no obvious reason other than "just because."

It is a good airport with good flights and rates.

Do not eat the chili dogs at the terminal "cafe."

    Goodness, that's even worse.

    Enjoy the Holiday Inn.

When did you become the PR flak for the Huntsville airport?

    J/K

Glad you had a good experience there!
