i'm going to take it for granted that you probably could have kicked the dude's ass, hence him reconsidering his approach on the way to your window.

That's one of the more unusual "not road rage" stories I've heard.

I actually dinged the back of a truck two years ago. I remember freaking out about it, especially as I saw the guy come toward my car.

First thing the guy says to me as I roll down my window is, "are you all right"? I said, "yeah, I'm fine." He then said he didn't think my car was too badly damaged, adding, "I know you didn't hurt my truck."

My heart kept pounding for hours even after that.

Possibly, though if he was afraid, he hid it well.

But yes, I am fairly certain that I could have kicked his ass.
