I just don't get this

    If the only stories which can be written are those never done before, ever-shrinking news holes will no longer be a problem.

    This story is news for this school. Whether it happened last year in a different state doesn't matter.

    Agreed. It's a good story for the week. next week there will be another one.

    Yeah, more and more girls play football. But how many are homecoming queen and kick the GW field goal. I don't see how you can't write this story.

    To be fair, it's not exactly like it was a last-second pressure kick. She put her team up 9-0 with a 31-yard FG just after halftime and they hung on to win 9-7.
