It's snuck up on me since I went from Dish Network to cable several months ago.

But damn, I love happening the option of soccer at most any time I want it.

Watching the Spain-Portugal friendly right now; great game. Great pace.

And to be able to get live Premier League on the weekends ... why would anyone ever pay-per-view for it?

    Fuckin' conservative. ;)

  4. I watch it, too. But only for EPL stuff; other leagues just don't interest me.

It's EPL for me too, but these friendlies are something else. It's like an All-Star game showing up out of nowhere ... except they actually care about winning.

I can watch soccer every four years with the World Cup. Anything more than that, not so much.

Just got DirecTV last week. Wondering why I didn't do this years ago.

Not only do I get FSC, complete with watching the M'borough-Arsenal game last week, but Versus, thus satisfying my hockey fix.

Watched the Brazil-Portugal friendly at the pizza place next door to the office today at lunch. Tomorrow, it's England-Spain.

    This clearly doesn't suck.

So, I was watching a Chelsea game last week and got curious about something, so I went to Wikipedia. Here are the U.S. players in the Premier League right now (number of U.S. national caps in parentheses):

Blackburn Rovers: G Brad Friedel (82)
Bolton Wanders: F Johann Smith (on loan at Carlisle United) (U-20: 5)
    Charlton: D Cory Gibbs (19)
    Fulham: D Carlos Bocanegra (42); F Brian McBride (95); M Clint Dempsey (23)
Manchester City: M DaMarcus Beasley (on loan from PSV) (61)
Manchester United: G Tim Howard (on loan at Everton) (16)
Newcastle United: D Oguchi Onyewu (on loan from Standard Liege) (17)
    Reading: M Bobby Convey (42), G Marcus Hahnemann (6)
    Watford: D Jay DeMerit
West Ham United: D Jonathan Spector (3)

If they showed VH1-style "Best Week Ever" shows with riots and hooligans, or goalies being hit by flares, then count me in.

FSC is one of the reason's I upgraded to digital cable. All I need now is if I could get GolTV so I can watch La Liga.

Plus they now have the Saturday MLS package.
