I have to cover the state swim meet this week...

    Daughter ran cross country last fall. Coaches and parents thought it would be great. "We'll get the coverage we deserve now."
    Postseason banquet was nice. Coverage didn't change, and parents bitched about not getting enough clips for the seniors' scrapbooks. Ate my meal, listened to the coach talk about each runner (about 50), took plenty of stares especially when coach mentioned that a better year next year might mean better media coverage. Interesting, though, the only ones to ever ask about why we cover cross country the way we do were the athletes, and they seemed to understand the logic.
