I have the greatest wife ever!

My wife and I usually wait to buy Christmas presents for each other to spread out the financial outlay.

Before the holidays, the only thing I asked for was an 8GB iPod. I thought I was pushing it asking for an 8GB iPod (we're not rich), but I figured a 4GB wouldn't hold all my songs. My goal was to get the best of all my shit off my CDs and basically store the CDs to maintain them.

Today, my wife decided to get the iPod. But what does she do? She springs some sweet 80GB shit on me! Her reasoning was that it was only $50 bucks more for a helluva lot more space. No argument here!

I'm enjoying the shit out of my iPod and am currently downloading 80s singles I'd never get otherwise, like Cheap Trick's Tonight It's You -- which I once had a 45 of, and which sounds as good as I remember it. I know it's old hat, but feel free to suggest whatever you want.

My wife, who puts up with me posting here a lot (and who vets my posts!), is a saint!

Now back to my download of Der Kommissar ...

After the Fire version or Falco version?

In all seriousness, that's great news on the iPod. I'm getting one this weekend (hi stormy!) and I can't wait.

 

After The Fire. I know there's a fierce debate (really!) over the merits of both. My brother, for example, prefers the Falco version I think.

I grew up with After The Fire. I grew up with After The Fire's ugly mugs staring at me from a London restaurant in the video. Give me After The Fire!

Next debate: English or German version of 99 Luft Balloons.

I think, right now, I'm going to download Berlin's The Metro ... just 'cause I can.

 

English version of Nena. I like to be able to sing along.

 

I prefer the ATF song but the Falco video. Might be one of the worst ever shown on MTV, but it's so bad it's good.

Oh, and "99 Luftballoons" in Deutsch all the way. Who says German isn't a romantic language?

 

I just downloaded Turn To You by the Go Go's. That song rocks. They should never have got off Scarface-sized doses of blow.
