I have malignant salivary gland cancer

    When I had the surgery on my prostate in September, people kept telling me, "Good luck. We're praying for you." Heck, I wasn't doing the operating. Pray for the doctors, nurses and tech staff instead, because my only job was to wake up afterward.

    The hardest thing is worrying about things you cannot control. You're still here. You're healing where you need to heal. If there's a complication, you can deal with that as needed. Otherwise, know there are a lot of strangers on this forum concerned about you, including me.

    I know it's hard not to be worried, but take time to appreciate where you are and hopefully what's still in your future.

    Thank you for all the well wishes. Got the results of my head, neck and chest CT scans and they all look good. Have to go back in 4 months for a followup scan, but for now I can exhale. First day in 7 months that I feel unqualified happiness.
