I don't think so. She got a perfume deal out of it.

Speaking of Debbie Gibson ... today is her 36th birthday!

    And hotter than hell still.

Electric Blue was definitely Deborah, not Icehouse.

Electric Youth was Deborah. Awful, awful video.

Electric Blue was Icehouse. I didn't read Flash's original post very closely, apparently.

DyePack beat me -- Electric Youth = Debbie Gibson song and perfume, Electric Blue = Icehouse's 15 minutes.

Also, I saw a photo of Fat Joe recently. When I saw his name on this thread, I assumed he had gone the way of Big Pun.

Debbie's song was Out of the Blue. Her perfume was Electric Youth. Icehouse's song was Electric Blue.

I will now drink Drano for knowing that.

Not only do I have Electric Blue on my iPod, I also have Great Southern Land. Both excellent songs.

Debbie Gibson had a perfume line?

Actually, I believe Ahmet Ertegun is still with us. I think it was his brother, Nesuhi, who died recently.

Still, since Ahmet has pulled himself away from the company, it really has gone downhill...He had an incredible ear.

BTW, did anyone know that the Ertegun brothers founded the New York Cosmos soccer team? I had no idea until today.

Actually, Out of the Blue was the album that spawned such American songbook favorites as Only In My Dreams and ... some others. Electric Youth was the next album and produced the song, which begat the perfume. What can I say, I had a total crush on her as a kid.

Fat Joe and The Fat Boys should get together and become one big fat mess.
