I don't think I look like a serial killer...

    But maybe I'm wrong.

I go out this afternoon to run some errands--pick up some wine for dinner, return the old bottles, check the air in my tires.

So I go to a local garage that's closed on Sundays but they have an outdoor air hose.

I'm just about done and I feel someone over my shoulder.

Look around, and there's this young guy--30 something with an earclip phone--so I know he must be cool.

He asks me, "Do you know where I could get a tire fixed?"

I think for a minute, "Sure, I think Walsh's Autobody is open on Sundays. You from around here?"

    "Nope"

"Tell you what. I live in the neighbourhood and it's just up the street from our apartment. Why don't you follow me?"

Guy looks at his girlfriend in the car, says, "Sure".

So, I turn right out of the gas station and I look in my rear view mirror to see him turning LEFT.

    WTF?

I may not have shaved today but I didn't ask him to help me put a couch in the back of my van.

  2. Maybe he heard it was a bad neighbourhood.

What exactly does a serial killer look like?

Did you make any sort of off-colour remark during your conversation? Maybe that was the centre of the problem.

I agree. People in red jackets give me the willies.

You guys are taking this WAY too seriously. I thought it was kinda funny. One of those moments that are so totally unexpected and right out of left field that they kinda take you aback.

We had a perfectly normal conversation and then he drives off in the opposite direction. Made me laugh.

Maybe he was late for a matinée at the theatre.

There's nothing in the world as pure as a Canadian's laughter.
