I can not get sj.com to load (using conventional means) at home

Suddenly on Wednesday morning, I could not get SportsJournalists.com to come up on my browser. I could not get on the site all day and could not get it to come up at all today. I figured it was just down since I could get any other site.

So I go to work and try it and find out that it has been up all along.

I can not get SportsJournalists.com to come up on my desktop computer OR my laptop computer, both of which are using a high-speed cable modem.

I can get to the site by going through an instant unblock site, but it is a pain.

The only security software I am using is the one provided by the cable company. I called them and they said that its their software was not causing it.

I use Firefox, but it is not Firefox because SportsJournalists.com will not come up on IE or Netscape, either.

If anybody has any ideas on how to solve this problem, I would appreciate it. I can call up virtually any other Web site.

You also, apparently, can't stop hitting the \ key. :D

I had the same problem at home. It's working fine at work.

It may be that your browser's going to an "old" page. Clean out your cache or history and see what happens.

No, it is weird as hell. I did not type the slashes, but they came up after I posted. It must be because of the way I have to get to the site. And I have learned not to use apostrophes until I get this fixed!

Maybe it has something to do with all the "\" thingies you have in your post.

Webby said somewhere that they were having issues with the domain site or something.

It's a program your computer has. Every \ represents 100 porn jpgs on your hard drive.

I cleared the cache and history and I still can not get in without going through the instant unblock site.

Sportschick: Did it just start blocking you on your laptop on Wednesday?

Perhaps you've been banned but nobody told you ... "We've found that these things seem to work themselves out on their own ..." and it is the end of the week ... "What is it that you actually DO here?"

It is an odd ban since I can get on the site easily at work. :)

I had some problems yesterday, but today I couldn't get on at all from that computer.
