Network will cover Dem Convention, not Republican.

How is this not racist? If CNN or Fox, etc chose not to cover the Dem convention, think the Revs. Shakedown would be picketing?

Yes, CNN or Fox would be rightly criticized for doing this. A black-themed cable channel centered largely around entertainment? It's business.

Because only Republicans are racist. [/mostofthepeoplewhowillpostonthisthread]

I don't see it as racist. I see it as politically biased.

From a journalism point of view, political bias is more than bad enough.

"We are not a news organization," said Rodgers, speaking at the opening session of the semi-annual Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills. "We are a television network designed to celebrate African American achievement."

"My audience is 93% black," Rogers added. "I serve my audience."

I guess they probably should cover all the black Republican candidates, too. Oh, wait ...

And if We (the station for women) only covered the Democratic convention if Hill had won...same thing.

TV One is not a news channel. At all.

The conventions have no constitutional right to be covered. The real criticism should be on the major networks for blowing them off, or the convention planners for making most of the shit so not worth covering in the first place.

  9. They better not pre-empt MILF Island.

I'd rather watch the conventions than the Olympics...
