I absolutely (expletive) cannot stand Whitlock anymore

Sorry guys, but Whitlock's worth reading (and when he's on TV, watching). Continue the hatefest.

It'll be interesting if he does. Mike DeArmond, the Star's MU beat writer, is the state's AP vote this year.

He has Missouri 1 and Kansas 2 this week.

Not to get too sidetracked... But Hugo Chavez is not a leftist. He's a fascist thug. The Grand Wizard of the Klan may be to the left of Hugo Chavez. Chavez is an authoritarian dictator who clamps down on the free press, throws political enemies in prison and is corrupt as all hell. Wouldn't it have been better to say, "I am to the left of the Gandhi" to make that point?

if this were an sec writer, there'd be a million calls of 'homer fanboy'

    well, now there's one

  6. No, because Gandhi's appeal, while anticolonial, doesn't fit into easy ideological categories.

I was actually going to say that, but figured Chavez was more of a commie thorn in the side to the right.

"Somewhere between Rosa Luxembourg and Trotsky" was how I described my position on the ideological line graph during my far-left youth.

  9. Believes in a number of things that Ragu undoubtedly would call "socialism."
However, he also believes he's the government, so he's over on the other side as well. Of course, if we hadn't meddled in Latin American politics for 150 years, and hadn't helped kill Allende, and enabled ruthless bloodthirsty dictators throughout the region, and hadn't tried to make Chavez the Allende of the 21st century, maybe his cross-ideological appeal wouldn't have mattered.
And, no, I didn't bring politics into this.
And WI, what did that mean? That you could both swim and duck?
    (Obscure political joke.)

Always a step ahead of the fascists, whether German straight-up fascists or Russian red fascists.

These days, I'm more of a E.V. Debs-Dorothy Day kind of guy. Sometimes, I wonder if I've mellowed too much....nah, probably not.

    Border Ruffians???

LOL, some white people just couldn't dream of living without their negroes.........and there were those that couldn't stand the sight of black skin.

The funny thing is........they were scalping, killing, and committing genocide to the RED man.

Some lingering animosity never leaves. It gets passed on from generation to generation - without proper context.
