    College basketball, April 1979-April 1989 and the emergence of the sport as television gold. You could even limit it to the evolution of postseason Division I basketball and its rapid growth in poularity.

    Baseball in the 1970s. Dawn of free agency, the Big Red Machine, the Bronx Zoo, some strong Orioles and A's teams in the first half of the decade, the Mets winning the series in '73, the neverending heartbreak for the Red Sox...

    Or baseball in the 1950s. The Yankees, the Yankees, the Yankees. The rivalry between the Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Giants (and both with the Yankees), the Dodgers and Giants moving west, plus the other teams.
