Yeah, mean is about right. Worthless and a waste work as well.

One of the things I most like to read on this board is industry gossip, which is basically all this guy was asking for. Instead, he got a stock lame joke.

Haven't you guys ever wondered what happened to a position you applied for even if you knew you were out of the running?

no. he wanted someone else to do his own damn work for him.

why don't you step off that mountain top, chief.

Yeah, I'm sure he posted expecting Tom Petty to call the paper and ask what the status of the job was.

or go to the paper's web site and see if there's a new name listed in the directory? shit, maybe i can google ASU cheerleader porn for him, too.

We're arguing the details at this point, but I've been at my current job three months and the web site isn't updated. Sure he could look for a byline or a welcome column or a brief than ran in the paper or something ... but sometimes a new hire doesn't start for a month from the time he or she is hired, and that's after a two month search and interview process. All I'm saying is I have a little sympathy. No answer, but I understand what he's thinking. If you don't have an answer either, don't answer.

uh, no. maybe the guy can figure it out and pass along the info to the rest of the board rather than ask for a handout.

the guy supposedly is a reporter, correct? does it really seem like that difficult of a fact to acquire?

No, it doesn't seem that difficult to acquire. An easy way, actually, would seem to be asking a board full of journalists, some of whom are probably very familiar with the answer he seeks.

or, e-mail the source? ... shit imagine that.

and yes, the answers are jumping off the page, aren't they?

Do you get off on being a dick to everyone Tom? I don't understand the need for hostility for a simple query.

Yes, there are other ways to figure out if someone has been hired somewhere, and who that person may be. But this constitutes as a legitimate outlet for somebody to ask that question. Many times a sports editor is in no hurry to let candidates know what is going on or where they stand. Perhaps someone else at the paper posts here and would know. Who knows. All I know is you can be a little more considerate to the young, naive kids out there and still prove your point.
