Rubio is from a swing state. Was he the exception to the rule?

    Yeah, pretty much.

We might get some "true conservatives" who are viable candidates, but we're unlikely to ever have a deep bench.

Rubio has the charisma to get elected. I kind of hope he stays on the bench for awhile (decade or so) so he has a track record to match when he finally decides to go for the presidency.

I've had my fill of people who ooze charisma and are great on the campaign trail but are unqualified for the job. That goes for both parties.

Rubio so far is a one-hit wonder on a statewide scale. Considering he won his seat against an unpopular GOP governor running as an independent and an extremely weak Democrat, the jury is out.

Reaching for Rubio at this stage is akin to reaching for a female Alaskan governor to pander for jilted Hillaryites.

The debates would take place in a pit, a la the Two Tribes video by Frankie Goes to Hollywood

She wont. The Dems don't nominate doddering senior citizens.

    Her shot was 2008.

  11. I meant "hyper-mole" which is a small overactive rodent.

By shutting his mouth and standing on the same stage as his challengers, Mitt Romney is imbued with all the gravity and dignity of the dean at a clown college.
