This is a really tricky policy area.

On one had, I'm thinking, "STFU, Huck."

On the other hand, I see the endless parade of single black mothers in my community every day, and I know the staggering amount of child support that goes unpaid, and it all breaks my heart.

Larger issue there, with many many variables and many many causes.

Sniping at a millionaire actress would not be my starting point to debate the issue.

    Dog whistle to the base.

Yeah, that's where the "STFU, Huck" comes in.

It's low-hanging fruit, though, to inflame his base ("Hollyweird!"). And he can address the issue while steering clear of all of the uncomfortable socioeconomic implications.

No Republican ever hurt himself in a primary by going after a Hollywood liberal. Much ado about who gives a fuck?

Huckabee is just mad, as I'm sure a few of us are on this board, that Portman isn't carrying his child.

Is that the same base that was convinced that Bristol Palin was the exception because she chose to keep her unplanned, out-of-wedlock baby rather than abort it? ... I thought that was the righty's stance now. Huck should be praising Portman for choosing not to abort! A -- um -- shocking double standard.

I can't wait for Mike and his band to break out their cover of Beyonce's "Single Ladies."

    Uh-uh-oh, uh-uh-uh-o!

I guess that Huck never watched "Murphy Brown."

Huckleberry must be a Quayle dog.

This thread is a lot less interesting than its title led me to believe.
