  1. how can you have "home-school teams?"

don't home-schooled students generally play for the school in the district they would otherwise attend?

    curious about that one

It's a screwy deal. Apparently they have their own little organization, but we did have one from the area play in a holiday tournament against UIL teams.

That was a very good read, thanks for finding that.
He is apparently now a freshman at a church school. Here is the roster: http://www.loc.edu/files%20for%20access/Athletics/mensBasketballRoster.pdf

My understanding is that very few states allow home-schoolers to play for public school teams. In Texas, private schools are not allowed to compete in the public school organization.

And there are at least four different private school state-wide leagues in Texas, creating further confusion.

    How's that odd?

Kentucky was thinking of going the public-private route, but it won't pass. They came close to passing it last year (forget exactly how close), but the KHSAA board of control denied the move.

I know I've never covered a game where a team had just two turnovers. That's pretty remarkable for a high school team. Wonder if there was a lot of stalling?

No stalling, the final score was 64-50. Should've been a blowout, but the winning team shot less than 30% in the second half and also missed a ton of free throws.
