Funny how the one person and family I know who worked for the Globe at any point was my uncle, who lived in a wobbly three-decker in Dorchester with fading paint on the outside. No limousine liberal there. How 'bout them, Howie? How 'bout his retirement? How 'bout his kids, my cousins, and their kids?
If he's gonna point the finger at the no-work jobs for the do-nothing offspring of a few affluent folks, howsa bout naming names instead of a "close your eyes, pull the trigger back and hope the shotgun blast hits something" approach.
Most of my family has been Herald readers (for better or worse) through the years — the opinions expressed within appealed to them more than the Kennedy-huggers of the Globe. But that doesn't mean they didn't respect the Globe or the people who worked there, even those on the Lobster shift.

  4. And that's why arguing politics in the right Boston bar is the best free entertainment in town.

One day, the Grim Publisher will come for Howie Carr.

When that day comes, he'll get his.

Howie is a right wing talk show host. That's his main income source. The Herald column is a sideline for him. The Herald publisher thinks it sells papers, which I doubt, but if/when the Herald goes under, Howie won't suffer too much.

Howie is who he is and always has been.

    People read every word.

"People" is a generous word, in that context.

I'm hard-pressed to bid higher than, say, "knuckledraggers".

    Your mileage may vary.

Earlier this week, Carr was talking about the time the Globe tried to pass off photos from a Hungarian porno movie as photos of US soldiers raping Iraqi women.
What the hell was he talking about?

he's a right wing radio talk host. AM 680 WRKO.
like michael savage, jay severin, rush, etc.

    they traffic in hate.
    it's what they do. hate.

he makes a lot of money hating.
which he needs because he's got two or three ex wives.

  12. Actually, only one.
