    It's fine. Just don't use it every other word like the guy MCSG is describing.

    It doesn't bother me and set off alarms like other words do, though one person I work with changes it all the time no matter what, though he's a pain in the ass and his editing skills are only slightly above average. To each his/her own.

    I confess, I also probably use it way too much. Sometimes you can't help but use it if it pops up in a quote. I have one football coach in my area that uses the word every time I get quotes from him.
