Working and going home. Just like any day.

Well, he had a whole network of stations until he imploded.

Spent 45 minutes trying to explain to my 4 year old daughter about MLK. It was sweet -- she simply couldn't process why anyone would be treated worse because of the color of their skin.
My town does a whole day of service thing, nearly all of which I blew off except for giving blood.

Then I went to an interfaith service which various religous organizations in town sponsor. Lots of focus on doing good deeds and spreading justice.

Mostly though I taunted Giants and Pats fans about the Jets.

Just out of curiosity, do most businesses close on MLK day? Is it considered a statutory holiday (like Xmas, Good Friday, Labour Day, etc?).

Legal holiday, so the banks and government functions close down. Business as usual elsewhere. No MLK Day sales, though.

A toast to the guy who said, ""Why don't we plug four more and get the whole week off."?

    Um, OK

Well, it is Robert E. Lee Day in a few places too.

For, I believe, the fifth year in a row, the local university's SID, his staff and what turns into about 20 other people play boot hockey. Not really a celebration of MLK but a good morning nonetheless.

But when I got home from work tonight, my wife was playing the "I have a dream" speech on her computer for the kids. That was cool.

Which is pretty much the radio equivalent of Crash Davis finishing his career in the Carolina League compared to the gig he used to have, I'm guessing.

By calling him "Dr. Martin Luther Coon ..." on the air.
