Shopping for one, possibly two, new leather recliners. Have a feeling my wallet will be much lighter by day's end.

Going to lunch with my father. Other than that, just relaxing at home.

  7. The same way I celebrate every MLK Day: by mocking the local bank that buys a half-page ad in our paper every year declaring that it is not, in fact, closed for MLK Day today but is closed for "Confederate Heroes Day." The guy who owns that place is a douche.

    Outkast applauds you, Mizzou.

I'm working until midnight. So...eating at the caf and watching sports?

I have my ass firmly planted in a chair pretending to work, even though I can't really do much of the work I want to do, because people I need to be working aren't working.

I am not sure how much longer I will continue this charade.

I'm at work all day, covering a MLK celebration at a local middle school. Beyond that, doing interviews with people I can reach, writing stories and working on pictures. Pretty much an ordinary Monday, except for no council or school board meeting tonight.

Wait. Is this 2010? Not 1956? Just checking. I would not have my money in that institution. (although they maybe the only game in town?)

I did work and was even paid OT.
