How will sports writers establish an alibi?

    One of the surest ways to make it crystal clear that you were at a high school football game is to get a quote from an offensive lineman. More often than not, they had the best quotes of anyone on the team, and it's for sure nobody else is going to have them.

    But the OP does raise an interesting point. I know of a case where a preps writer was canned because he was writing game stories that made it look like he was at a game, but he was somewhere else, getting the play-by-play from radio, and making up coaches' quotes.
