You're entitled to that opinion, I suppose.

But first off, I didn't say goodbye to the friend.  I said goodbye to the girlfriend.  I married the friend.

Secondly, you and I just see things different, I guess.  I've always had more guy friends than girl friends.  Read into that what you will.  So, unless I was sleeping with them, I've rarely said to myself "no way can I live without this platonic opposite-sex friendship."  The one person I couldn't cut loose is now my wife.  Perhaps that's why I think the way I do.

    No. No emoticon.
Worst part was we talked for about an hour before she said anything.

That breakup was a very good thing though. That was a deadend relationship if there's every been one.

Edit: Meant to mention the Nelson reference was well done, CI.

She was unfamiliar with that term.

SeaBass: My comment was in regards to your basic statement that if he wasn't willing to give up his best friend, he must want to sleep with her. That that's the case in all cases. And that if you can't walk away from an opposite-sex best friend, then the only reason that is is so you can try to get laid by her at a later date. All "you"s in this are in the general sense, not you specifically.

    I disagree strongly.

Wow, and I thought Flash and I were treated badly by our significant others.

About the only worse way to get dumped would be in an SportsJournalists.com thread.

Oh fuck, that would just kill me. BBAM, I'm sorry a girl would be callous to you. E-mail was bad. IM, I think I would have hopped in my car and slammed it into his house.
