How should the Mayan thing be played tomorrow (and today)?

    I tried to get our designers to use 13.0.0.0.0 as the date in accordance with the Long Count but they said no.

    Back when Harold Camping made his ill-fated prediction that Jesus would come or the world would end or whatever, our paper stripped it across the top of A1 that day. Of course nothing happened, other than it happened to be my last day at that paper (totally coincidental, arranged months before). My first when I saw the headline was "Thank God I won't have to be here Sunday to answer all the phone calls from nitwits."

    Seriously, this sort of nonsense deserves nothing more than a few graphs on page 12, if space permits.
