  2. there are good stories everywhere. i love reading well-written prep stuff when I'm out of town and haven't even heard of the schools. you can tell which writers are going in thinking, "This sucks," and who respects the job and is trying to write good stuff. if I'm an SE and I need to fill a pro beat or college beat, I'm not going to look at the whining little twerp who's been crying about prep stuff for three years. If I have a guy who's approached high school sports seriously and dug up good stories and never complained about it, he's going to be considered.

    but, yeah, the level of whining by prep writers is horrifying

    if you don't like it, go find another job

    shut up and write a good story
