How often do you lie to your spouse?

I'm not talking about major, marriage ending stuff, but small lies to keep the peace and not hurt feelings. Like saying you like food you don't, saying they look good in something they don't or saying you will go to an event you really don't want to.

My latest is my wife bought a new clock for the bathroom that she really likes. I hate it. It takes up too much space on the counter and is encased in a box that makes it difficult to see unless looking at it straight on.

I told her I like it, too.

What are some of your peacekeeping fibs?

Only few times per day. Not all the time.

I'm a terrible liar, even with little stuff, and my wife knows all my tells.

    So I'm screwed.

Depends on what she asks me and how often.

I operate on a need to know basis.

Never. Not once in my life have I lied to my spouse.

    Her: "How is it?"

    Me: "It's OK."

    Her: "You hate it."

    Yeah, I hate it.

I was in the process of typing this very thing last night ... then my wife walked away.

I don't lie about her back yard ( I get the front yard).

"It looks like Stalingrad," I've said over and over.

    Doesn't seem to faze her.

Took me a second to realize this wasn't a euphemism for something else.

Sorry about that. Just my way of saying, "it's an ugly mess."
