How much garbage do you produce each week?

No, I'm not talking about stories you've written.

In honor of Earth Day, how much goes in your trash can, dumpster or down the chute in a typical week? And how much is recycled?

We're down to an average of three plastic bags of garbage per week. The garbagemen must love stopping at our house since the can is so light. The rest is recycled.

We do white paper, mmixed paper, cans, bottles and cardboard in my house and we are using 1/2 the volume we were using before.

We can easily skip a week taking the can out to the curb.

Wife, baby and I only need one trash pickup every two weeks.

We have more than usual this week because we had a birthday party for the kids, but generally, we're in the five-bag-a-week range.

We (the two of us) have between 1-2 plastic bags per week. We recycle paper, plastic bottles and aluminum cans. I also put glass (usually used beer bottles) in the recycle bin with the plastic, but I honestly don't know if they recycle that or just trash it because it's not listed on the side of the bin like the other stuff.

    Does that include diapers?

Way too much. No recycling program around here, so that doesn't help. :'(

Myself and three roommates probably put out two bags per week, plus recyclables (paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, aluminum).

I have a bag a week and the only recycling I do is with my newspapers, which I drop off in the bin at work about once a week.

Living by myself, I couldn't imagine producing any more garbage than I do.
