To answer the question, I'm on my third full-time job, in addition to a semi-steady diet of freelance work.

Counting the job I had at the time I joined (2007), 5 jobs. Two at newspapers before getting laid off and finding an exit to the business.

I had good timing with no foresight in 2007.
I was fed up with the business and was looking to get out for about a year, probably looking in earnest for six months.
I had long since hit the wall with regard to constantly do more with less.

If we're going just this site and not the original Sports Pages board, I've had two jobs in journalism and two not in journalism. I had those jobs for three years, five years, a little less than two years and four years.

I read something last week that said that a third of all "paid" journalists lost their jobs between 2006-12. I was actually surprised the number was that low.

Joined January 2003, several jobs but what's weirdest is that I've gone from Florida to Indiana to Florida again and back to Indiana. Pretty sure I'm done moving now, though never say never...

Feel so fortunate to say I've basically been in the same copy editing/design job since 1998 (spent less than a year at another local shop). I know my luck won't last forever, but I haven't had a huge desire to jump yet.
