I came here June 2006. Until last August, when I became a teacher, I was at the same shop between 1999 until then.

Columbia, Mo. (or if it's in the body of a story, Columbia, Missouri)

I'm going on three (in the span of four years, yeah, I get around evidently)

    Just lucky, really.
Happened on an opening that at the time was focused on media relations.
After I got the job, went back to school to get a marketing degree.
Jumped on every professional development opportunity during the past seven years.
I've been very fortunate to work for a great college that has let me grow into the larger job.
And I worked for a great boss for my first six years.

Interesting question. I'm on my sixth.

First half of 2009: copy editor on universal desk, 40K daily in the Midwest

Since August 2009: copy editor/assistant news editor/whatever else is needed, 20K daily in the Pacific Northwest

Having lived out west nearly five years ... never goin' back again! Regardless of what job I need to stay here.

Five - newspaper, radio, radio, web, web. Time for a new challenge, though.

Started here in 2008 (different handle). Was a sports reporter at a small daily. Became a sports editor at a smaller daily in 2011, then switched to the desk at a midsize last year.

Started posting in 2007, lurked a couple of years before that. I've been in 2 journalism jobs, with a break in between due to a layoff.
