    2.7 miles from home to office.

    Unfortunately, the climate and a major five-lane road preclude me from biking to the office.

    the last three jobs i had, were all within walking distance. i really hate the idea of driving to work, especially now.

    You mean $4.55 per gallon for gas (where I am, anyway)? Thankfully I live just down a long, steep hill from where I work.

    My commute has, uhh, changed a bit in the last year.

    April 2007: 4 miles
    July 2007: 48 miles
    September 2007: 30 miles
    January 2008: 32 miles
    Current: 18 miles

    Amazingly, only one of those was because of a job change. Fuck Lean Dean. ::)

    Work from home. Many years ago I commuted 50 miles each way to my first paper, $16k salary. I get cold sweats thinking about what that would have been like with $4 gas.

    About 6 months ago, my daily commute was 58 miles roundtrip.

    Now? It's about 9 miles total.
