How long before it's a streak?

Not overly serious about this one, but a fun debate.

Driving back from a game tonight I heard a guy on the radio refer to a team's two-game win streak. That struck me as sounding odd. Back-to-back games yes, a streak not so much.

I make my rule 5 games for a streak. What about you?

BTW: Got to cover a junior hockey team this year that set a franchise record 19-game home-ice win STREAK.

Hope none of those wins came via shootout [/crossthread]

BTW, I would say 3 wins in a row is a streak. Personal opinion.

depends on who the team is. If the Charlotte Bobcats win two in a row I'd say that's a pretty impressive streak

I tend to agree with this.

This is where I sit. For the right team, a two-game winning streak can be cause for partying in the streets.

I always defer to Lou Brown, who said three in a row is called a winning streak.

Two wins in a row is a streak only in a half-sarcastic matter of speaking. Three in a row is a streak for any team.

though two games or three. . . the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team laughs at such a short streak

Three is a streak, but that's really not of much significance in any sport with a 30+ game season. Unless the team is really, really bad.

It's a streak when the last stitch of clothes comes off, and shoes don't count.

At least three games. Two isn't enough.
