How does a SJ survive the first date?

For the first time in nearly four years, I've scored a date ;D.

Four years ago happens to be when started working in this biz. I had a steady girlfriend and fiance for about 2.5 years of it. I found out getting back into the dating scene sucks, especially in smaller towns while working nights. It seems that most women in this town are either married or nasty taken. Finding a dateable woman seems to be a lot tougher than it used to be.

So after a year in this town (my third stop), I asked a woman out and she gave me her number so we can go out for some coffee. After a little more than a year of the single life and spending weekends doing locker room interviews, I proved that even a SJ in a dead-end profession can land a date. What makes it better- this woman is way, way out of my league as far as looks go!

Now comes the hard part...getting date No. 2.

Any advice from the wonderful world of SportsJournalists.com on how to keep a woman interested in a sports journalist?

 

Learn to breathe through your ears.

 

Tell her how you read about Charles Haley masturbating in front of his teammates.

 

If she finds out what your salary really is, you're screwed. And not in a nice way.

 

Bone it like you own it.

 

More like a "Let's be friends" way. :-\

 

Hey, if she breaks any bones, you got your opening.

 

She got a grille?

 

Not a finished one, I bet.

 

But will she have it any other way?
