How Do You Feel About Circumcision?

The uncircumcised route is just not as big of a deal to this woman as many women make it out to be, IMO. Being with someone now who is not, it's just not a problem at all.

I just don't see that it is all that different.

I sometimes lie, spread eagle, on my bed and stare at my naked body's reflection in the mirror on the ceiling. It's then that I most frequently contemplate where I'd be with foreskin. I imagine Chef has a similar feeling when he puts on socks.

I feel naked in my nudity. The head of my flaccid member is uncovered for the world to see. I could close the blinds. I shouldn't have to. Circumcision should be a choice.

I'm not sure I would have kept my foreskin. It seems smelly, like the inside of a deep bellybutton that hasn't been cleaned in weeks. But it's interesting. Foreskin is interesting. I've only seen them in pornography, and rarely even then*, but there seems to be almost no utility to a foreskin. The turtle neck description is apt. When have you ever been relieved you chose a turtle neck? Turtle necks don't really keep you warm. Wear a regular fucking sweater. You're not a French artist. No one likes French artists.

And that's the drawback to foreskin. You have to draw back your foreskin. And some women are freaked out by the concept. In my high school, we had a similar situation to the one Mizzougrad96 describes. To this day, we still call Nate "Flappy." The nickname stuck. I have no idea if he still has a foreskin, but I know Caitlin S. was fucking petrified. That'd be enough to get me to reconsider. Caitlin S. was sexy.

But we should get the choice. Foreskins seem interesting, if trivial. You'd have more options for playing with yourself, for one. Hide and seek. Funnel of love. Penis sattelite dish. Once he gets sick of the bat wing, a circumsized man is out of options.

I don't know what I'd do. But I wish I had the option.

I don't think I'd be into that, but I feel bad for the uncircumsized guys who have to look at circumsized male porn stars and struggle to put themselves in those shoes.

I don't mean this as a knock on your wife, Rico, just making a general comment, but I think it's over-thinking it just a tad to worry about some pain that's being inflicted.

Think about it. If born vaginally, the baby just made the most tumultuous trip of its life, ousted from the only home its ever known. Sometimes the baby has endured pain his/herself if he/she got stuck during labor. My daughter had to be suctioned out when she was born. Her head looked like cone. Babies' heads are soft, but that had to hurt.

If born via C-section, the physical trauma for the baby probably wasn't as bad, but here you are, minding your own business in the womb, and all of the sudden, a cut opens in the only place you've ever known and you're snatched out and into a cold, new world.

Somehow, I really doubt circumcision is going to top any of that. Not to mention, baby's are not aware of their penises. Not to mention that no baby ever circumcised has ever remembered/been traumatized by it.

 

Fortunately, I don't remember feeling it at all.

 

No offense taken. I get that the decision to not circumcise (like many we make as parents) was more my wife's deal and her perception of what baby (and she) would go through than any physical or mental pain the kid would ever endure. It's a personal call - I respect either decision.

Fairly often, there is a guy out on the lawn of the US Capitol that is protesting male circumcision. He often has giant pictures of circumcisions gone wrong and a big sign that says "genital rights are for males too."

 

Has The Washington Post ever done a feature on that guy? The lede writes itself ...

I have three sons and I just felt like, I don't know how to deal with an uncircumcised penis. For all I know now, it wouldn't have been a problem at all. Back then, I just wanted them to get snipped like I had been snipped. I'm glad I did it each time.

If, when my sons become fathers, they decide to make a different decision for their own sons, that's up to them.
