The McClatchy-owned paper in a major market in the Eastern time zone I live in ran a 19-paragraph Associated Press story on A7 of Monday's paper.

Wire stories still run 19 graphs?

We had a weird split. Features had a good amount of coverage and a live blog, and that was teased from A1. Op-ed got told from on high that the Oscars aren't important and space was better used on other matters, so no mention at all.

We're in Hong Kong, of course, so that might have something to do with it. Too many people scared of losing their comfortable positions if they're seen taking the wrong position publically.

There were no ads on the page.

There were two other Associated Press stories and a four-column Oscars-related picture.

The lottery results were also on the page under two one-column house ads/promos for the newspaper's "partners," a television station and public radio station.

Nothing in Monday's paper, which is understandable because the Super Bowl was a second day story due to early deadlines. But not even a second day story in today's paper. Maybe saving it for the end of the week entertainment pages?

How much entertainment coverage does your paper have? What was on the page Tuesday?
