How can Tebow be a Nike spokesman and get away with it?

    Back to the topic at hand, the NCAA told Jeremy Bloom he couldn't take endorsement money for skiing while he was in school playing football at Colorado. That said, I, too, want to know how Tebow and Florida can get away with this.

    That's why I mentioned compensation. As in, maybe it's OK to do it as long as he doesn't get paid. I still can't think of a case where that happened. That Jeremy Bloom case, by the way, was fubared

    Steve Alford was suspended for some games at Indiana for letting someone use his picture for fund-raising calendar, or something like that.

    An eligible athlete's likeness can't be used to promote a commercial enterprise. That's why those team calendars you buy at Border's have athleties who have already used up their eligibilty. I think the NCAA is quite clear on this.

    If you can't pose for a calendar, you can't do a commercial, right?
