    No president controls the economy. But the president certainly influences the government budget. Apples/oranges.

    Do it the Argentine way! Print the hell out of $1,000 bills, drop the interest rate to zero and flood the market with currency! Inflation goes to 1,000 percent and therefore our foreign debt is cut by orders of magnitude!

    That's the ticket!

    They'll pay for it by putting a gun to our heads and reaching into our pockets and taking whatever they decide is our fair share, just like they always do...

    That's not true. The deficit runs in the trillions.

    They'll pay for it by pulling out the Diners Club card and tacking on another bill for future generations.
