Exactly. It's not to say that Carr is a scapegoat. That entire offensive line should have been released today. What makes the Texans think that getting a backup QB is going to make them any better. That kid will be on his ass on every play behind that sorry-ass line.

    They'll go 4-12 again.

    Nah. TB just signed Garcia.

    Miami or Oakland, maybe.

This is why Casserly got the hell out of Houston.

I think now that Saban is gone, he's got to go to Miami because we all know Saban was a Culpepper guy.

Who would trade for that damaged bill of goods?

I still think Saban ruined his knee by rushing him out there.

Won't be Dallas either. They signed Brad Johnson as their backup.

Carr's best bet would be to serve as a backup on a playoff contender, say like the New York Giants (not advocating for the G-men, just spitballing them as an example). That way, in case the starter goes down, Carr gives them a No. 1 talent off the bench.

Teams like Detroit, Cleveland and Miami might offer more money, but they'll offer less protection and less chance for success.

I've been saying the same thing. Carr obviously has the physical tools. But the thing that has impressed me most about the guy? The fact that he has taken a second-to-none beating behind that sorry excuse of an offensive line for five years - and has never complained about it.

That's the kind of guy I want on my team.

He'd make a good No. 2 for Jake Delhomme.
