The Houston Chronicle's neighborhood sections are seeking locally based freelance reporters to cover news, sports, events and happenings. Areas of emphasis include Spring, Cy-Fair, Kingwood/Humble, The Woodlands, and communities inside the loop. News reporting experience and ability to cover government and community meetings in person a plus. For information about the freelance opportunity, send e-mail to greg.may@chron.com.

This sounds like a news reporting job. How much sports reporting is involved?

Not sure, but you could always e-mail Greg and say you only want to cover sports.

You would think an online ad or an ad in the paper would help land someone local for this gig.
